How long does the sun protection actually last?
The personal erythema threshold time—the time each person can spend in the sun without getting sunburned—is extended by a factor of 65+. Shield Lotion Skin UV 65+, although barely noticeable, remains reliably and long-lasting as a regenerating and protective microfilm on the skin. The lotion is extremely sand, sweat, and (salt) water resistant, as well as friction-resistant. Reapplication is only necessary after drying off water or sweat with a towel or similar.
Does Shield Lotion Skin UV 65+ prevent vitamin D production?
Vitamin D is formed on the skin when exposed to sunlight. It is precisely the task of every type of sun care product to ensure that this sunlight does not create skin-damaging radicals. This subsequently inhibits vitamin D formation. However, with Shield Lotion Skin UV 65+, this is only reduced and not reduced to zero, as is the case with conventional sunscreen. Shield Lotion Skin UV 65+ protects the skin from the sun biomimetic, i.e., with mechanisms identical to the skin's own sunscreen.
Are there any laboratory certificates for the ingredients?
Yes, there is: For each individual production, cosmetics manufacturers must comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and use analyses to rule out possible contamination with heavy metals, pesticides or solvents.
Are there any application studies on the use/benefits of the products?
We test our products intensively, exceeding legal requirements. For DYNADION, the performance testing with the University Hospital (Dermatology) of RWTH Aachen University is particularly noteworthy.
Are there any scientific studies or tests that prove that the chitosan biopolymer complex effectively absorbs UV radiation and provides a reliable SPF 60/65+? How can the product work if it doesn't contain any conventional UV filters (neither chemical nor mineral). Chitosan is known for its moisturizing and wound-healing properties, but not as a UV blocker.
The sun protection factor is, of course, scientifically sound and proven. 100% organic biopolymer complexes form the foundation of the basic technology: The cell membrane complex of the skin's stratum corneum (CMC) is reproduced in a nature-identical manner. The reinforced CMC retains much more water, is more stable, and is built up as the skin's natural protective layer, actively regenerating it. This creates a biomimetic micro-protective film that naturally protects against UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C radiation—all in a skin-identical manner, without conventional sunscreen chemicals and UV filters, through the assimilation of radiation, particularly through the moisture in the cell membrane complex.
Chitosan is the basis of the biopolymer complex, which, as you can now easily see, has much more extensive properties than chitosan itself. In short, the skin, its CMC, and thus the skin's own sun protection are strengthened by the biopolymer complex.
