Shield & Care Lotion

Before, during and after sports, skin care and protection are particularly relevant. This applies to both acute problems and prophylaxis.

The ^microbran© technology creates a micro-protective film on the skin that is imperceptible, breathable and highly efficient with a thickness of approx. 4 to 6 micrometers. This protects against chemical, physical and microbial external influences.

The effect is long-lasting, water and abrasion resistant and generally lasts until the next towel use in combination with a lot of water - for example, directly after showering.

The development of problem areas and injuries to the skin are unfortunately unavoidable, especially during intensive sports activity. Shield & Care Lotion minimizes this risk or provides comfortable and quickly effective treatment in case of problems:

• The pores of the skin are opened by sports stress, let external influences become easier. Shield & Care Lotion covers the entire skin as a micro-protective film and inhibits germs, for example. This protective effect against environmental influences is especially important during sports activities with open skin areas in potentially contaminated environments.
• The alkaline sweating typical of sport puts a strain on the skin and leads to sweat eczema. The pH-balance^© technology of Shield & Care Lotion reduces alkalinity and keeps the pH value in the skin-neutral range of 5.5. Shield & Care Lotion can therefore be used to treat sweat eczema.

• Pressure and friction turn contact points into weak points in the body. Blisters and open sores develop, which significantly reduce performance and often mean long regeneration periods. The microbran© ^protective film of Shield & Care Lotion stabilizes and strengthens the horny layer of the skin, protecting it against physical influences such as pressure and friction.

Shield & Care Lotion is rheologically active and compensates for precisely mechanical energies that act directly on the skin locally and normally quickly lead to overstressing and thus blistering. This works prophylactically but also for already existing problem areas.

• Shield & Care Lotion is particularly suitable as a plaster substitute - also or especially as a plaster for open wounds! The lotion forces the blood to clot. Bleeding from abrasions, for example, is inhibited and in most cases completely stopped. The ^microbran© film formation imitates the skin, has lipophilic properties and thus separates the hydrophilic blood. Due to the oxygen permeability of the ^microbran© film, this leads to static blood clotting.
• The pathogen-inhibiting potential of Shield & Care Lotion also comes into play in the case of scratches and abrasions: if an injury occurs to the skin, the film-forming properties of Shield & Care Lotion significantly reduce the risk of infection. The ^microbran© protective film rebuilds itself over such minor injuries and its pathogen-inhibiting properties can take effect.
• Shield & Care Lotion thus also helps with irritated and inflamed areas, as well as skin and nail fungus.

These are just a few examples, the areas of application of Shield & Care Lotion are just as varied as the skin's need for general care and protection, so cannot be presented here in full.

The Shield & Care Lotion is:

• breathable,
• sweat resistant,
• (salt) water resistant and
• friction-resistant.

Shield & Care - the better second skin is also available as a fluid:

• for large-area applications,
• approx. 2 to 3 micrometers thickness of the formed film,
• compared to the lotion with higher comfort in terms of application and large-area use.

How often can Shield & Care Lotion be used?

Shield & Care Lotion can be used at will and without restrictions.

Can Shield & Care Lotion also be used in other areas?

Yes, Shield & Care Lotion can also be used in other areas. For example, wherever blistering must be prevented or chemical protection must be provided - especially during extensive wet work with the hands. Various cases of application are reported here, especially from the skilled trades.

Are there any indications from everyday use when Shield & Care Lotion should not be used?

Yes. Among other things, Shield & Care Lotion was applied directly to freshly sutured wounds by doctors to promote wound healing. However, for all the success in terms of healing, the adhesive effect that developed as a result of the weeping wounds was so great that it was more difficult to remove the stitches. In these cases, it is therefore recommended to apply Shield & Care Lotion to sutured wounds only after 2 - 3 days, when the wound is no longer oozing and/or to leave the sutures out.
